When the Airport Experience News team shared their intent to publish an issue on leadership, we were excited by the opportunity. The project prompted an internal discussion around the definition of a leader. What does it mean to be a leader?Who do we view as ‘leaders’ in our company? At the same time, we happened to be holding our annual Leadership Summit in Austin, Texas during the first week of November. We brought together 150 of our leaders to discuss the year ahead and recognize achievement. Both the conversation around leadership and the Summit took place as we face labor shortages, macro-economic headwinds, and a rapidly evolving aviation industry. Against this complex backdrop we must leverage the full power of our entire team’s talents, skills, and energy to achieve our business goals. We must leverage the leadership which exists at every level of our organization. Ultimately, leadership isn’t about titles – leadership is about a willingness to serve, inspire and connect. If all our leaders are focused on common goals and shared beliefs, we will be successful, despite any challenges we may face.
