There are 51 leases set to expire next year, so the airport will be launching the next phase of its plan starting this year and through 2024 with 30 RFPs, possibly more, focused on retail, casual dining and quick service. Dechant then offered some time to Mi ć a Anderson and Michelle Sandoval of the DENCommerce Hub, who provided a brief summary of the Hub, which serves as a resource for small businesses and champions efforts that improve policy, increase access and position firms to bid on projects across all DEN departments. Kim Kitko, deputy director of business development for John Wayne Airport (SNA), then took to the stage. SNA is soon turning over 80% of its concessions, or approximately 30 locations and 37,000 square feet, providing an opportunity to change the look and feel of the airport for the next 10-plus years, Kitko said. The vision for the airport is to reflect Orange County with a focus on healthy living and upscale shopping. The proposed solicitation schedule would have the RFP out in late March, with selection occurring in October or November and agreements beginning January 2024. Next up was Michael Golden, senior director of commercial for Vantage Airport Group to discuss opportunities at Terminal 6 in John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). Terminal 6 is a $4.2 billion redevelopment project anchoring JFK’s north side and built on the sites of the former Terminal 6 and the current Terminal 7, which will be demolished in 2026. Terminal 6 will include approximately 60,000 square feet of concessions space, including 16,000 square feet for duty free, 13,000 square feet for retail and 30,000 for food and beverage. The procurement process is estimated to begin this summer and end in early 2024, with concessions construction beginning mid-2025 and full completion in 2028. Airport terminal construction and renovation is booming, and with the new activity comes a range of new opportunities for concessionaires. The 2023Airport Experience Conference invited representatives fromnine different airports to discuss their upcoming opportunities in concessions and other revenue-generating areas. Manny Manriquez, innovation and commercial development manager at Albuquerque International Sunport (ABQ), kicked off the session, discussing ABQ’s $87 million capital investment renovation project, which will include a new TSA footprint and food hall. In all, including the food hall, the T connector mixed-use space, and both the A and B concourses, there will be an estimated 26 concessions units of varying sizes, two of which are pre-security. ABQ plans 16 food and beverage units and ten retail spots. Next, Cristen Mosley, concessions manager at Da l l as For t Wor th International Airport (DFW), presented. DFWhas many concessions leases expiring in the coming years: 29 in 2023, 28 in 2024,

17 in 2025, and 20 in 2026, not including the airport’s new construction projects happening in Terminals A and C. The RFP timeline is as follows: This June, there will be three locations available, including a bar, a travel essentials unit, and a body care/lotions unit, with a focus on Small Business Enterprise Concessions (SBECs);. In fall 2023, there will be 25-plus locations available. In summer/fall 2024, there will be 25-plus locations, as well as opportunities generated in the Terminal A and C projects. And, in summer/fall 2025 there will be 17, along with more from the Terminal A and C projects. Pamela Dechant, senior vice president of concessions for Denver International Airport (DEN), shared what’s happening with DEN since it completed the buildout of 39 new gates over all three of its concourses at the end of last year. There is one food and beverage RFP out now and the airport is currently refreshing the commercial development plan it released in 2019 with updated forecasts and a look at passenger types as the airport recovers from the
